About Our Company
Senior Health Direct is a subsidiary of Alberland Partners, LLC, domiciled in Brighton, MI.
For over twenty years our agency has focused on Medicare programs and insurance products in the senior market.
As web based sales started to make a real impact in 2008, many folks were losing coverage from their employers,
we began to recognize that while many people enjoyed the convenience of shopping online, the lack of GUIDANCE from
these sites cause numerous problems.
You see, in the old fashioned world of insurance sales, an agent depends on a long lasting relationship in order to make a good living. Giving the most ethical advice, comparing plans, and shielding your clients from unwanted increases is what keeps them on the books. The web sales industry really can't recommend plans, they simply facilitate the enrollment...basically saying "we don't care what you buy...as long as you buy something!" We aimed to fix that problem, by creating a website that was the closest thing to an old fashioned agent at your kitchen table. Along with feedback and design ideas from hundreds of actual Michigan clients, our team of over 40 licensed agents helped us design what we believe is the next best thing to a visit from them. Enjoy!
What We Believe We believe that we have a responsibility to act on your behalf and in your best interest! Let's face it: It certainly seems as though big insurance companies are just sitting around coming up with ways to raise premiums and deny claims...and sometimes they are! Our job is to be your advocate. Understanding the complex maze of programs, isolating the best carriers, and making recommendations that are based in experience, not just price is the only true way to keep a client forever.
We also believe that modern day customer service has gone down the tubes. Outsourcing overseas, automating phone systems, ridiculous hold times, and a complete lack of timely follow up has plagued our business for years...and you deserve better. We promise we can deliver.
You Are The Hunted It may sound a little depressing...but it's true. The modern American retiree is the wealthiest group of individuals on the planet. While the US bears a multi-trillion dollar debt, the IRA dollars held by those 65 and up is staggering, and makes you the preferential beast of a very talented group of hunters. Financial advisors, annuity salespeople, and insurance agents all seem to know what's best for you money. The only way to defend this onslaught is through the power of education. Knowing the most common pitfalls of Medicare programs will let you learn from the mistakes of others, and utilizing our state of the art quoting system will allow you to impartially shop the market.
Johnny Branstetter is the head of the prescription drug plan department at Senior Health Direct. Prior to working at SHD, Johnny worked as a freelance writer for several print and online news publications. He has a degree in Journalism and Communications from Eastern Michigan University.
Johnny's two biggest passions outside of work are music and disc golf. Having taught himself to play both the guitar and piano, he hopes to one day produce a finished album. He also aspires to be a professional disc golf player.
My name is Claudia Gerard. I am a licensed agent for Health and Life Insurance. I look forward to helping you understand all of the options available to you as you turn 65 and beyond.
In my leisure time, I am a voracious reader, an avid gardener and a gourmet cook. I also enjoy, hiking and camping with my husband and 15 year old daughter.
My name is Chris Kramer or just "Kramer." I am currently enlisted in the Michigan National Guard. My MOS is 11B (Infantry). In 2012, I was deployed to Afghanistan in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. During the normal work week, I enjoy helping seniors understand Medicare. My favorite sports are hockey, baseball, golf, snowboarding, and bowling (yes it is a sport).
I've been involved with the Alberland Companies for the last 4 years and have been in insurance for the past 10. I am married and have a 2 year old son, who is the best thing that's ever happened to me. I am a graduate of Central Michigan University with a Bachelor's Degree in Broadcasting and Journalism. Since I started with Senior Health Direct I have been able to utilize my knowledge and abilities to help seniors making the transition into Medicare.
My name is Ed Tunison. I have been working with Medicare recipients for three years. I enjoy helping seniors understand the bewildering behemoth that is Medicare. It is satisfying to enable individuals to understand the ins and outs of Medicare as there is a whole slew of misinformation thrown at them. Keeping up with the changes occurring in Medicare is a full time job and, seniors have to rely on trustworthy, educated advisers for the correct information. The reason why I enjoy this occupation is because I am able to recommend any program; I present the information, make recommendations, and my clients can make an educated decision for themselves.
I live by the motto, "work hard, play hard." In my spare time, I indulge in many things. Living in Michigan, for me, is ideal because I experience all four seasons. In the spring, summer, fall, and sometimes winter, I hit the "old feathery" on the golf course. During the summer, I enjoy spending time on my boat and mountain biking (although, in Michigan, it's hill biking). I grew up skiing on the hills of Michigan but, at the age of eight, I was spoiled by mountains on the west side of North America. Since then, I have travelled to a different mountain every year in search of the best powder.
Hello, My name is Cindi Phillips and I've been helping people with the transition on to Medicare for the past 5 years and it's a job I truly enjoy!

My name is Gary and I have been enjoying life for the past 49 years and have been a resident of Brighton, MI for 42 years. I have had the pleasure of raising 4 daughters ages 26, 24, 15 and 9. I have 4 awesome grandchildren and am sure there will be more in the future. I graduated from Brighton High School and attended Sienna Heights College. While in High School, I was involved in year round sports and received a scholarship for wrestling in college. This being said, I have always been discipline in my ways and being a caregiver (having raised my 2 youngest daughters on my own for the past 9 years) I am happy to be involved in a line of work, where I can help others.
Previous to working as an Insurance professional for Senior Health Direct, I was a business owner working with individuals and businesses throughout the community and beyond for 22 years. I love to be able to continue helping people in my community as well as throughout the United States by advising them on their healthcare needs. I believe that my past experience and faith will help me to succeed in my career in helping others.
